We at aquaLEDs offer natural, sun-like light for every aquarium – even those with individualized design. This is made possible by the aquaBAR, which – individually or in combination – can be suspended above an open tank or mounted in or under an existing aquarium cover. A beam angle of 120° is sufficient to homogeneously light any freshwater or saltwater aquarium. With the optional dimmer function you can adapt the maximum daylight brightness individually to the needs of your aquarium, while providing subdued moonlight for a natural nighttime environment.

With standard lightbulbs we were used to measuring light intensity in watts. With halogen lamps and fluorescent tube lighting, simple recalculation was possible. But with LEDs we have to talk about what is actually transmitted: perceived light, measured in lumens. This is influenced by so many factors that it is no longer even possible to use „watt“ as a basis for comparison. Instead, it only classifies the power consumption.
In comparison to standard lighting, LEDs emit much more light. In addition, the LED generates a wide spectrum that covers all the color bands of the rainbow.
It is primarily the natural spectrum of aquaLEDs lighting that makes it suit the requirements for fresh or saltwater aquariums so perfectly. Our ideal temperature management, which needs neither fan nor water to stay cool, provides you with light that you see but don’t hear. And reduces power consumption even further. The higher the current input, the more light an LED produces. But the amount of light does not increase proportionally to the current: instead, the temperature rises, reducing the lifetime of the LED. In the lights by aquaLEDs, we use only the highest quality of 3-W LEDs by CreeTM, but operate them with only 1 watt. This creates an optimal balance between reduced current input, long life expectancy, and maximal brightness. One 25 watt module mean 3250 lumens.In short: maximum efficiency.
